Dwarf French Bean - King of the Early

£3.00

Phaseolus vulgaris - approximately 40 seeds.

A Dwarf French Bean variety known for being early, dependable and productive.  Tolerant of cool northern growing conditions, these compact bushes produce flat pods with beautiful mottled red baking beans inside.  The pods are tasty when picked green however they are commonly left to dry on the plants for a harvest of baking beans, delicious in hearty winter stews.

Growing Info

For an early crop, sow in trays, pots or root trainers in early May and transplant after the risk of frost has passed.  If sowing direct, do so in late May/early June, after the risk of frost has passed.

French Beans will do best when grown undercover in many parts of Scotland, however they will also do well outside in a sheltered sunny spot.
