Beta vulgaris - approximately 200 seeds.

'Fireworks' chard is a lovely mix of red, pink, orange, yellow and white coloured stems which maintain their lovely colour after cooking.  Great for salads and stir-fries.  Known to be easy to grow in all types of soil.

Growing Info

For an early crop, sow into containers in February/March undercover and transplant as the soil starts to warm in April/May.  Alternatively, sow in modules or directly in the soil from April/May.  Sow direct or into modules from July to September for an overwinter/early spring harvest in a tunnel or under a cloche.

TIP: Chard is great for cut and come again harvesting.  We like to harvest the larger outside leaves from several plants at once whilst leaving the smaller leaves ones to grow.
