Seeds of Scotland
Beetroot - Jannis
Beta vulgaris - approximately 200 seeds.
Classic globe-shaped deep purple beetroot with a sweet mild flavour. A newer selection of the famous 'Boltardy' variety from Kultursaat, bred for early production in organic and biodynamic growing conditions. 'Jannis' is versatile and reliable. These tasty beetroots are a firm favourite of ours. Grow an early crop for eating fresh or sow later for storage roots. A great choice for the Scottish garden.
Growing Info
Sow in modules indoors in March/April and transplant 4/5 weeks later for an early crop. Alternatively direct sow outside from April/May onwards. Sowings made in June/Early July should grow into good storage roots.
Tips: Don't forget to eat the leaves too.
