Seeds of Scotland
Salad Rocket
Eruca sativa - approximately 500 seeds.
Vigorous and easy to grow salad leaves well suited to growing in containers and successional cut and come again growing. Great for adding to salads or garnishing dishes with a delicious mild peppery flavour. If you allow the plants to do so, they will produce beautiful edible flowers which also make a great addition to a salad.
Growing Tips
Sow into pots into small pots with a little heat in March and transplant with protection in April/May. Alternatively, direct sow in drills in April/May if the soil is not too damp and cold. Continue to sow throughout the summer, if the weather is hot and dry sow in a shadier spot. You can also sow Rocket in August/September to grow overwinter in a polytunnel or greenhouse.
